This edition of Othello is a fantastic copy. There are ample notes alongside the text, which contribute to the understanding of the play. Well spaced text, also allows for clear reading and annotation. There are also plenty of activities for both in and out of the classroom, aiding student revision and coursework. 5 star Amazon review

Roma Gill, the series editor, has taught Shakespeare at all levels. She has acted in and directed Shakespeare's plays, and has lectured on Shakespeare all over the world.

Another great Oxford School Edition

I performed a selection from Othello at a Shakespeare intensive this summer and tracked down many, many editions for insight into the text. The Oxford School Edition remains my favorite. The extensive footnotes are all in the margins, making it so easy to bounce between the text and the notes without loosing your place. The notes are thorough with the exception that as a student edition, it skims over the bawdier innuendo, but you can figure those out pretty easily on your own. The typography is very well done and gentle on the eyes. There are wonderful summaries of the scenes and history of the play which gives deeper insight. The punctuation is well done (some other editions go crazy with the commas) and lends itself logically to the text. I picked up a copy of Oxford School Edition's Romeo and Juliet earlier this year and loved that one. This continues the trend of excellence. I'm thoroughly impressed.

Excellent resource for the classroom

This text includes it all for both the classroom and for independent study of Shakespeare's Othello.
It provides helpful background information about the play and about the time period in which it's set. In addition, it includes photos and graphics. In the back of the book, it includes a section called, Exploring Othello in the Classroom. This is the best version I've seen as of yet and am glad I stumbled upon it!!
You won't be disappointed with this series!

Rare information on the topic of DRM

The gem of the book is Chapter 7 "Protection in Unicast/Multicas which contains valuable information on the security feature of DRM (especially Microsoft's DRM) that can not be found anywhere, Chapter 4 "Modeling Content Protection" presents "the four-layer model" which is original and very helpful to understand the whole idea of DRM, "The Devil's in the Details" session in each chapter is also quite inspiring and entertaining, overall a very good book just a little bit on the pricey side.

Comics Guaranty Corporation - Certified Grading System

In Overstreet's 1999 Comic Price Guide (29th edition), a new concept in comic grading is being introduced. Robert Overstreet and his senior advisors are endorsing The Comics Guaranty Corporation (CGC). CGC "is based on the model of successful certification used by the leading grading service in rare coins, and the fastest growing grading system in sports cards" according to the Overstreet Guide. The books are to be graded and evaluated by CGC using exacting standards and sealed in a special holder. If the books are removed from the holder, then re-certification would be necessary. Sounds good, Think again! Excuse the pun, but to compare certification of coins or cards to comic books is like comparing The Batman to The Wasp. Coins and cards can be seen from both sides supporting the grading system, while the pages of a book can not. How would you ever know if all the pages are intact? I guess you have to trust the "integrity" of the grader. Lest we forget, What made comic collecting the hobby it is today are the stories and adventures of our favorite characters. What about the comics who are not considered keys? Would these books fade into oblivion? Who would want to spend money to grade these books? Maybe the best of intentions are being made to honestly grade books, but what happens when there is competition with less accuracy, consistency, impartiality and integrity? The early 1990's proved to be diasterous for the industry with inflated high prices on low-grade books. This concept appears to be heading in the same direction with very few reaping the rewards with monetary gain. Com'un Guys, Back to Basics! The industry has already been monopolized by a few who are cornering the market. How will this entice new collectors? Apparently, it has been forgotten that these books, with our favorite characters,were meant to be read, treasured and enjoyed. They were not made to line the pockets of the few who monopolize the industry. I can not help but wonder how The Batman or The Wasp would feel about being evaluated, encapsulated and never to be read.

Simply Indispensable.

The definitive resource and price guide reference for the entire comic book collecting industry. Every dealer on the planet has one, and uses it as a benchmark for pricing. And even when they sell books at a different price, they always do so in reference to The Guide price (i.e. "Above Guide, " or "Below Guide.").

The values in this book are not guesstimates. They are based upon a wide survey of North American comic book dealers and collectors. At the very least this book tells you which books are more in demand and which are not.

The only criticism I have is that 3rd party graded books definitely command a price premium in the market over so-called "raw" books. The Guide should make an effort to reflect this somehow in their valuation system. Either designate that the prices are for certified grades, or raw, books.

I also believe that eBay sales of standard books should also form the guide pricing. It does account for auction sale prices, but mostly of key books.

Additionally, the people who buy the hard copy should also be given access to a digital copy.

Otherwise, this is the best Comic Book collecting reference you can own. Highly recommended.

Best of its type but don't buy the hype.

This really is the best book published of its type but this is partly because Mr. Overstreet controlled a large part of the market for some time. Many of the books listed may have inflated prices owing to Overstreet's vested interest in the value of a particular title in some particular condition. In general, only Mint condition comic book values are accurate. In nearly every other case, values are slightly to greatly inflated. Many books, such as Amazing Fantasy # 15, exist in such great numbers that they are held artificially high by the impression of scarcity implied by this book and fostered by those who own copies of that title. On the positive side, this is the single most complete guide of comic book values and it is the only book one needs in order to fare well in the used comic book market.

This book is a complete scam created for the sole purpose of luring Web developers like me into thinking that this is a state of the art book on hot new technology. The book content was probably mechanically created from Google searches, and the 5 star comments are probable faked! This book doesn't make any sense and is completely unusable. The authors of the scam probably figured out that, by the time customers would figure out what this is all about, they would have time to make a few sells.

In fact, I made the suggestion to Amazon that they should remove this title immediately from their catalogue in order to make sure that nobody else falls into the same trap. Somebody is obviously using the Amazon site to lure their customers!

I requested and I got a refund for the $9.99 that I lost on this scam. Meanwhile, my paper copy went straight to the recycle bin.

Picked this up hoping to suggest it as supplemental reading material for students I teach.

To call this a book is slanderous. It starts off with a reference and explanation about windows bootstrap and all sorts of red flags started going off; I gave the author the chance to possible use it as a contrast point with what the actual subject matter was meant to be. He goes on to give us a laundry list of different tools and their google'd descriptions without a lot of context. I eventually gave up reading when the examples were starting. The examples are sorely in need of formatting a more detail.

If you are looking for an introduction to actually using bootstrap I recommend not purchasing this item.

The photographs are excellent, but the index sucks. It is poorly organized and incomplete. Take my advice and buy this book for Neuroanatomy just for the pictures. The paperback edition is very afforadable. Just put lots of little flags on the pages or sections you use most. It will save you much brain-ache.
